Finding the right products and accessories for your child's hair can become overwhelming and anxiety can set in really quick!! Don't let that deter you from making the first step to getting the information you need. Mommies and Curls is here to help you through the process.

What's in a consultation?

An initial consultation consists of a one-on-one, sit-down conversation about the needs for your child's healthy hair journey. I will exceed your expectations! We will get to know one another to the point where all of your hair and personal questions will be addressed.

A safe space

My goal is to come into a space where you can feel comfortable enough to open up and let me be your sounding board. It can be your home, a coffee shop, wherever you feel most relaxed. I will encourage, motivate and inspire you to be that super mommy that you already are.

We're with you

My consultation with a Mommy yesterday was a proving testimony of empowerment, motivation, and inspiration. Leaving there made me feel so good and had me smiling from ear to ear. I love the conversations that we had from hair to cultural experiences to just plain mommy talk.

Let Mommies and Curls be the inspiration you need in your life. Let's create forever friendships.

Good things always come in threes! Your hair care routine is no exception.

If you're struggling to breathe life and moisture into your baby's coils, kinks & curls, then you absolutely have to try the LOC method. It's a simple, 3-step process that keeps natural hair well-moisturized, soft and manageable.

What's the LOC method?

Leave-in. Oil. Cream. The LOC method for curly hair is a simple process for parents that's easy to remember and easy to follow. Layering products in this order allows the hair to retain maximum moisture and that's what we want, right?

Step 1: Leave-In Conditioner

The first step to the end of your curl woes starts with a good leave-in conditioner. Prevent breakage, reduce frizz, and support healthy growth with a liquid leave-in that defines curls and makes them pop! Your favorite store (Hi, Target!) usually has some of the best options for any size budget. And they smell great, too!

Step 2: Oil

Next, apply a small amount of oil to the hair, making sure the moisture from your leave-in actually gets left in. The great thing about oil is that it's easily found, just go to the baking aisle of your local grocery store! The oils listed below are great for natural hair. Depending on porosity, you may have to play around and find one that works for you.

  • Coconut oil

  • Olive oil

  • Jojoba oil

  • Castor oil

  • Avocado oil

  • Grapeseed oil

  • Argan oil

Step 3: Cream

The last step of the LOC method is extremely vital for hair with high porosity or hair that always feels dry. Apply a creamy moisturizer to the hair to seal in all the goodness before styling the hair as desired. Try one of the amazing products below.

Leave-in conditioner, oil, cream. That's it.

Now you're ready to LOC for healthy, bouncy hair!
