A lot of pictures!

These memories last a lifetime. You want your kids looking their best, so why not take a look at something new? These styles are fun, cute, and the right amount of sassy for little girls under 12.

First, make sure your baby's hair is super healthy, moisturized, and detangled. To make styles last longer, always cover your baby's hair with a satin bonnet or scarf every night. You'll also want to apply a light moisturizer daily to keep it strong and make it shine.

We searched the internet to find styles that are easy to do, cute, and protective. See some of our favorite holiday hairstyles for little black girls.

There are thousands of books and free videos talking about raising your kids. With information just a few clicks away, most parents don't take the time out to go to parenting workshops.

But those of us with the call to love and nurture kids with a different kind of beauty than our own can enjoy workshops. Last week was a testament to this fact.

We made the trip out to Washington to join Evergreen Christian Community for our "Hair Care & Cultural Conversations event. ECC has a foster, adoptive, and kinship family ministry called Compelled to Care. C2C serves its families by building communities and providing training. It's precisely why we created Mommies & Curls. We consider it a blessing to have an opportunity to support C2C's mission.

Transracial Parenting Workshop

The two-day event was full of hands-on learning and open conversations for 84 parents and 72 kids. Every family had a transracial adoption or foster placement. We were able to teach white parents with black children how to do their hair and talk about culture.

There was so much passion for parenting in the room! After class, it was amazing to see parents hang around to speak with us about things that we didn't get to cover. It drove home the fact that we all need a little help! Some of the feedback we got was that the information we provided was very practical. We were happy to cover topics to help foster parents get pre-approved training hours.

As part of our mission, Mommies & Curls wants to bring knowledge to families across the country! To learn how your organization can bring our workshop to local families, visit mommiesandcurls.com.

"How often should I wash my child's hair?" is a common question that I get asked by parents wanting to keep their child's hair healthy and moisturized.

If you are a parent wanting to know when you should wash your child's hair, there are a few things you should consider:

  • What is your child's hair type?

  • How old is your child?

  • How dirty is your child's hair?

  • Is your child's hair itchy?

  • When was the last time you washed their hair?
